Rumours have been flying all day about a cabinet reshuffle in Scottish Labour with a number of top names expected to get the axe. The normal process in such circumstances is that the individual is asked to attend a meeting with leadership and is then informed that their services are no longer required. However, the Scottish Labour Party, led by Richard Leonard decided to take a different approach with Anas Sarwar.
Anas Sarwar, who is the Shadow Secretary for Health for Labour in Scotland was engaging in a debate in the Scottish Parliament chamber on Health when he got the news…….from Twitter!
In a public statement on Twitter, Anas said:
“I’m deeply disappointed to no longer be Labour’s Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health. It’s a shame that I came to know about this decision through Twitter, while I was leading for Labour in a health debate in the Holyrood Chamber”
